The authoritarianism is restored in Bulgaria

The development of democracy with third parties is key for our relations, the rights of humans and honest elections. We often accept the merciless resolutions for the errors of various regimes. But our words have no meaning and value if we close our eyes for the problems inside our own home.

The Bulgarian citizens were forced into a crawling restoration of autoritarism. I live in a country where elections are being won by deceit, duress, purchasing of votes abuse and misuse of the administrative resource.
Here the authority has established full control over the media trough pressure on their owners or direct interference in the work of journalists.  Small and medium sized businesses are being suffocated purposefully, while private monopolies are being encouraged (they on the other hand are under full political control). Business is divided in the most criminal way – the best of the mafia traditions- dressed in politic authority. The contests are never won by the best offers because the winner was determined ahead of time with just one phone call by one particular person. Here a singer, song-writer was questioned because of the lyrics of on of his songs, making fun of the new party-country. And it goes on and on……

Democracy will win. But we need solidarity, and the EU- specific mechanisms to stop such perversions before they happen.

One-minute statement of Kristian Vigenin on a question of a great political importance.
